Designing is a lifelong process. As the design industry continues to evolve, Instructional Design teams are constantly looking for opportunities to develop innovative E-learning experiences. We will discuss E-learning tips and best practices, as well as methods backed by research that improve workplace communication and reduce conflict.

 

Participants will learn:

  • How to utilize your in-house design team to deliver greater cost savings, learner satisfaction and performance gains
  • Engagement levels for E-learning courses
  • Best practices and tips through examples of various projects including a 360 virtual tour, media, gamification and utilizing branching designs

Speakers



Eunjoo Jang holds the position of Instructional Designer in the Training and Development Department at Hawaiian Airlines (HA). With her passion on learning design and human learning mechanisms, she is also currently enrolled in the PhD degree program for Learning Design and Technology (LTEC) at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. As she learns about different learning theories and learning design methods from her academic world, she’s constantly applying the new learning theories and design methods into operational training programs to improve and enhance learning experiences.


Recently, she has promoted designing and developing gamified E-learning courses for HA recurrent training along with other regulatory training curriculum. Previously, she had established the global training system and curriculum for LG Brandshops worldwide in LG Electronics, travelling around the world to implement systematic effective training. She has also organized and operated several global conferences to share best practices with the worldwide LG Electronics stakeholders.




Joshua Weitzman is an award-winning Instructional Designer, currently working for Hawaiian Airlines. He has over 20 years of experience in the design industry, where he has worked on some of the most iconic brands all over the world. Prior to moving to Hawaii, he left his mark at in-house teams within Fortune 500 companies and design agencies in New York City. In the evenings, he enjoys long runs with his Goldendoodle and looks forward to a future with proper kerning.




Cheryl Honma-Fujihana currently holds a position as an Instructional Designer in Hawaiian Airlines’ Training & Development Department. She has over 18-years’ experience in the aviation industry and played a vital part in establishing Hawaiian Airlines’ Learning & Design Team. She is constantly striving to develop innovative world class quality courses and learner engagement relevant to the customer’s needs. Recently, Cheryl and fellow colleague, Josh, presented at the 2019 Training Industry Conference & Expo in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her love for the aviation industry began as a Flight Attendant for a regional carrier and later transitioned into their Training Management team.
