Bio
Deb Christensen has a passion for developing others and brings over 30 years of experience in training, organizational development and human resources. Before joining Y. Hata & Co., Ltd. as Corporate Training Manager in August 2018, Deb ran her own training and performance management consulting business for nine years, working with clients in Hawaii, the mainland U.S. and Canada. Deb moved to Oahu in 2001 and was a business partner at Café Hawaii Partners, serving as Vice-President of Human Resources and Training for the group’s Starbucks Coffee, Jamba Juice, and P.F. Chang’s operations in Hawaii, as well as their businesses in Florida and Puerto Rico.
Prior to joining Coffee Partners Hawaii in 2001, Deb was Director of Human Resources and Learning & Development for Starbucks Coffee International, assisting in Starbucks global expansion into Asia (including Hawaii), Europe and the Middle East. Deb studied communications and retail management at Portland State University, is a certified Health and Nutrition Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and is trained/certified in multiple leadership and personality assessment tools.
