About this Event

During this session we’ll explore micro-learning; a way of delivering content in very small, specific bursts.  We’ll provide examples and give you an opportunity to practice creating your own micro-learning content. 

In this session, we’ll incorporate the following topics:

  • What is micro-learning
  • Examples of micro-learning
  • Elements of micro-learning
  • Benefits and drawbacks of micro-learning
  • How to develop content for micro-learning

Parking is available at the 1332 Aala St. Parking Lot, which is located on the corner of Aala Street and North Beretania Street next to HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union.  ATD-HI will subsidize $3 towards the cost of parking.

Please Note:  Parking will not be available in the HawaiiUSAFederal Credit Union parking structure.

About the Presenter

Nelwyn Lee


Learning and Performance Improvement Solutions

Nelwyn Yee is the owner of Learning and Performance Improvement Solutions. She has created online and instructor led courses for companies in Hawaii and California -- for example, Kaiser Permanente, Roche, the University of Hawaii, Queens Medical Center, Hawaiian Electric Company. Nelwyn also has extensive experience conducting needs assessments, creating learning strategies and evaluating training effectiveness.

Before starting her company, Nelwyn served as a Training Manager for the Ilikai, a Senior Learning Consultant for Kaiser Permanente, and a Senior Instructional Designer at Genentech.

Nelwyn served on the ASTD Hawaii board for six years including serving as the Chapter President and Chapter Board Advisor. She is grateful for the professional development that ASTD has provided.


AOE (Area of Expertise):

The AOE for this Event is “Instructional Design”, one of 10 ATD competencies.  You will receive a stamp for this event on your Area of Expertise tracking card. (Tracking cards are available at the event.)

Everyone who obtains stamps in all 10 Areas of Expertise in 2016 will receive an ATD Area of Expertise Certificate of Completion for 2016.  There will also be a drawing at the end of the year to win an All-Access Pass to attend all events in 2017 for FREE! (You must be an ATD Member to be eligible for this drawing.)
