Ku‘ulani Keohokalole, President, is principal consultant and owner of People Strategies Hawai'i LLC, advising leaders on creating functional, healthy, and engaging workplaces. Prior, she served in organizational development consulting capacities at Bank of Hawai'i and Lili'uokalani Trust. Her passion for training and ongoing performance improvement stems from her upbringing; she was raised by a family of Native Hawaiian social workers with a strong belief in the ability of communities to advocate for and solve their own problems. She serves on the board of directors of KEY Project in Kahalu'u and KAI LOA, a non-profit supporting Ke Kula o Samuel Manaiākalani Kamakau Hawaiian Immersion Charter School. Ku'ulani holds a Master of Arts degree in Education Leadership, Politics and Advocacy from New York University and is certified as an Organizational Development Process Consultant by the Institute of Organizational Development.

Gwen Navarrete Klapperich, M.Ed., CPTD®, Chapter Advisor/ATD National Liaison, is Chief Learning Consultant of Klapperich International Training Associates (KITA) LLC, a talent development consulting firm that specializes in employee training & development, diversity & inclusion initiatives, performance consulting, and American Red Cross health & safety training.. She holds over 20 years of experience in training & development, customer service supervision, and quality assurance initiatives, and has worked in various industries such as retail, call centers, healthcare, government, hospitality, nonprofits, and continuing education. Gwen earned her CPTD® (Certified Professional in Talent Development, formerly Certified Professional in Learning and Performance) from the Association of Talent Development and holds a master’s degree in education specializing in Training & Performance Improvement from Capella University. 

   

 


Dr. Summer Van Pelt   Dr. Summer Van Pelt, VP of Events, is the Campus Director for the University of Phoenix, Hawaii Campus. Dr. Van Pelt has been in the Higher Education field for over 17 years and is a strong proponent of education. Before leading the Hawaii Campus, Dr. Van Pelt was the Campus Director for the University of Phoenix Bay Area Campus in Northern California. Prior to that, she spent 11 years is Asia, where she helped establish the Overseas Military Campus for the University of Phoenix and served in a variety of roles from Campus Director and Area Director, Enrollment. The learning centers were located on military bases in Okinawa, Mainland, Japan, Korea, and Guam. The campus served our military members who were stationed in the Asia/Pacific region.  In addition to her administrative position with the University of Phoenix, Dr. Van Pelt also serves as an Associate Faculty member for the University of Phoenix, where she teaches classes in Critical Thinking and Foundations for University Success. Dr. Van Pelt earned her Doctorate in Management in 2009, her dissertation focused on and is entitled, “The Complexities of Leading Virtual Teams”.  Dr. Van Pelt has served as the President for the Board of Directors for the Girl Scouts Overseas, President of the Bay Area Diversity Council and served on the Board of Directors for the Joint Venture Silicon Valley.  Having a black belt in a martial art, she has served as a volunteer instructor for women’s self-defense, this is a cause Dr. Van Pelt is passionate about. In her spare time, Dr. Van Pelt, enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as traveling, and running marathons.

Valerie Koenig, VP of Finance, is a business advisor with The Alternative Board Hawaii, a business and leadership development organization. She works with presidents of companies in coaching and advisory groups, as well as leading corporate strategic development groups. Her Master of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from the American Graduate School of International Management and she is enjoying learning more about talent and organizational development. In her free time, she is an avid follower of current affairs and loves tennis.

Marshawn Martin, Doctoral Candidate, VP of Marketing, is a highly experienced leadership development professional who has worked in both national and international markets. Throughout her career, she has honed her skills in higher education administration, sales leadership, management, communication, strategic planning, and corporate training. Marshawn is a trainer and speaker with The John Maxwell Team. In addition to her work at The John Maxwell Team, she is co-owner of So Ono Coffee LLC. She is also currently enrolled in a doctorate program at Alliant International University where she is pursuing her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Management.

  Andrew Muccio, VP of Records, is an Instructional Design Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, currently working with government agencies to support their training program initiatives. He has 11 years of experience in the learning and development field, working on various instructional design projects for government agencies. Andrew received his Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) in Information Technology (IT) from the College of William and Mary and a Masters of Education (MEd) in Curriculum & Instruction from George Mason University. He received his CPTD® (Certified Professional in Talent Development) certification from the Association of Talent Development. Andrew truly enjoys applying an instructional design methodology that marries robust learning theory and research to meaningful training delivery vehicles.

Sarah Kalicki-Nakamura, VP of Strategic Partnerships, is the co-founder of TH!NK® LLC, an award-winning talent development company that has partnered with more than 300 companies since 2000 to deliver workplace solutions that are helping businesses achieve their goals while keeping employees engaged, productive and happy.  Passionate about lifelong education and learning, Sarah serves as an instructor at the University of Hawaii at Manoa Shidler College of Business, teaching graduate-level courses focusing on Organizational Behavior and Learning and Development. Sarah holds a Master's Degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor’s in Broadcast Journalism from Arizona State University.  She has earned multiple certifications including Everything DiSC Facilitator®, Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team Facilitator, PXT Select, and the New World Kirkpatrick Model Bronze Level.  Sarah is also passionate about helping Hawaii families thrive as a Nu’uanu YMCA Board Member.
