MiMi is an Organizational Development Consultant who applies her body of knowledge to create healthy and thriving workplaces. MiMi unleashes her organizational development toolkit to help organizations: attract and retain top talent, improve job satisfaction, increase collaboration, motivate higher rates of productivity, increase learner engagement, boost employee morale, and significantly reduce workplace stress. MiMi has earned the nickname "Mimify" from colleagues which describes her ability to think outside of the box and deliver innovative solutions. 


Slavica Hansbrough, President


Slavi is an Owner and Principal Consultant at Empowered People Consulting. Her mission is to help organizations increase productivity and effectiveness by nurturing human systems, organizational culture, and every individual. Every person deserves to enjoy work and feel fulfilled at the end of the day. Previously, Slavi worked in the fields of journalism, marketing, and event planning. Her recently found passion for organization development led her to earn a Masters of Arts degree from Hawai‘i Pacific University in Organization Development and Change. Slavi was born and raised in Serbia and has lived in Hawaii for the last 15 years. Also a longtime military spouse, her career led her to work in the government, corporate, and non-profit sectors. Brian Madamba, VP Technology


Brian Madamba is a Talent Development Specialist at HawaiiUSA FCU. He works with the company to produce materials needed for learning plans and internal projects. He is heavily versed in the financial industry with a focus in economics, stock markets, and real estate. On the side, he has multiple businesses built all across Asia, the United States, and Canada. His hobbies include watching the news, traveling, trying new foods and restaurants, going to concerts, and shopping. Brian is also experienced in the retail industry having completing certificates is fashion styling, retail management, and business essentials form multiple educational institutions around the US. Julianne Odo, VP of Finance


Julianne is a Sr. Organizational Effectiveness Consultant with Kaiser Permanente, one of the nation’s leading health care providers and not-for-profit health plans. Pairing her previous experience as an Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity Consultant, her work is focused on implementing inclusive and equitable system-wide solutions that drive effective change, talent planning, performance management, and team effectiveness.  Julianne has 15 years of experience in the Learning and Organizational Development field; prior to working in health care, Julianne worked in the hospitality, banking, and retail sectors. Julianne holds an MBA from the University of Hawai’i, a B.S. in Communication from Southern Oregon University, and PHR and SHRM-CP certifications. Contact - finance@atdhawaii.org



Sookie Kang, VP of Records


Sookie Kang is currently Director of Human Resources at Standard BioTools, Inc. Her professional experience is deeply steeped in the life sciences industry having worked at small to large pharmaceutical companies in global leadership roles. With 14+ years of experience, she has served in trusted HR business partner roles with a focus on talent management, engagement, individual and team development strategies. She enjoys collaborative partnerships in work environments that is focused on creating organizations where employees feel and perform their very best! Sookie holds a BS in Biological Sciences and MBA from the University of San Francisco. She is originally from South Korea, raised in Honolulu, and lived in the SF Bay Area for 17 years. She is back on the islands with her husband and two young children. She finds joy in exploring old and new local spots as she gets to experience them with her little ones! Ricardo “Ric” Xavier, VP of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion



Ricardo (Ric for short) is originally from Brazil and started his professional journey as a language teacher, moving on to teacher trainer a few years later. After 10+ years in education, he wanted to see what else was out there. Ric got a business degree and further education in HR. The highlight of his career was when he could merge both the educational and corporate worlds: he learned about ATD in 2017, became a member, and dove into Learning & Development. Ric has been a facilitator since his years in education and added instructional design to his portfolio last year. He is currently a Learning Experience Designer for Studio 5 Learning, a consulting company in the L&D space. Contact - dei@atdhawaii.org



Dayna Hasegawa, VP of Talent Management & Volunteers

Dayna Hasegawa is currently Director of Talent Acquisition and Learning Development for Bank of Hawai'i, one of the leading financial institutes in Hawai'i.  She holds over 10 years of experience in training & development, and over 6 years in Talent Acquisition in the medical, retail and financial industries.  With both functions recently added under her purview for the bank, she is able to think more broadly when it comes to attracting and developing talent for the future.  In this unique role, she is working on expanding and building synergy between talent acquisition and learning in order to enhance the employee experience throughout their entire career lifecycle.  From attraction to development and retention, Dayna strives to provide a world-class experience for candidates, employees and managers at all levels.  Her contributions include leading organization-wide development programs, implementation of a new HR system, redesign of career development and performance management, and re-building of both Talent Acquisition and Learning Development teams.  Dayna has a BA in Psychology from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa and is a life-long learner who most recently completed The Women's Leadership Academy with Dale Carnegie. Cristina Rose, VP of Membership 

Cristina Rose is currently the Senior Organizational Development Specialist for First Hawaiian Bank. Originally from Kingston, Jamaica, she found herself drawn to Oahu for college where she studied Psychology at Hawaii Pacific University, and obtained her Master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Argosy University. Her professional journey spans from retail to technology, and her present work is focused on the development of high potential leaders, fostering workplace collaboration, facilitating change management programs and creating safe spaces to celebrate our women leaders. In her spare time, Cristina volunteers as a “Big Sister” for Big Brother and Big Sisters Hawaii, spends quality time with her grandmother & cat “Kitty”, loves photography and is always on the hunt for the perfect sunset! Ayla Blacklaw,
VP of Marketing 

Ayla is the Owner and Learning Experience Designer at Ayla LXD, where she crafts custom e-learning solutions for businesses and non-profit organizations. Prior to her career in adult learning and development, Ayla worked as a special education teacher. She combines her knowledge of learning science with visual design to create accessible learning experiences. Originally from the Chicago area, Ayla moved to Honolulu in 2019. She holds a Master’s degree in Special Education (LBS II: Learning and Behavior Specialist II) from Northeastern Illinois University and a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education (LBS I: Learning and Behavior Specialist I) from Illinois State University. Ken Rossi, OD SIG

Dr. Ken Rossi is an Assistant Professor of Organization Development at Hawaii Pacific University where he is also the faculty chair for the Master of Arts in Organization Development and Leadership (MAODL) program. Dr. Rossi’s research is in the area of leadership and leadership development and organization development and change.

Before joining HPU Dr. Rossi served as NASA’s Career and Organizational Development Training Manager working out of Ames Research Center in Mountainview, California. Prior to NASA, Dr. Rossi ran a career transition program, satellite campus operation, and served in the US Army as a leader, trainer and Organizational Effectiveness consultant and educator.

Dr. Rossi holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California, a master’s degree in Human Resources Management and Organization Development, and a master’s degree in Counseling from Chapman University, a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Chaminade University and is a graduate of the US Army Organizational Effectiveness Staff Officer’s Course at Fort Ord, California and is a Senior Registered OD Professional.

Dr. Rossi has worked extensively throughout the United States and the Pacific including Samoa, Thailand, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Panama, and other areas of South and Central America. Contact - odsig@atdhawaii.org


Luke Horger, Tech SIG

Luke is an Organizational Development & Learning Consultant for Hawaiian Electric. With experience spanning the medical environment to a tech startup, he aspires to lead the Tech Sig to foster a collaborative space for shared knowledge in instructional design and technology, to empower Tech Sig attendees to be the best educators they can be. Beyond work, Luke’s love for learning extends to studying languages like Spanish and Japanese and exploring the musical realms of saxophone, piano, and guitar. He encourages an agile, fail-forward approach to embrace imperfection, learn from mistakes, and continuously grow.
