Extreme Course Makeovers with Instructional Design

Wednesday, October 17, 2018

11:30 AM – 1:00 PM

About this Event:

Do you have a learning program that isn’t getting the results you want? Are you considering incorporating microlearning, gamification, flipped classroom techniques, video based learning or other tools and techniques into your course but not sure where to get started? Or are you just feeling like you need to freshen up a long-standing program?

Come with us as we create the blueprint for an Extreme Course Makeover of a “real class.” During the session we’ll model parts of the instructional design process for course redesign (e.g., reviewing organizational needs, identifying desired outcomes, exploring critical content, and delivery methods). We’ll also ask you help brainstorm and come up with ideas for redesign.

After the presentation attendees will be able to:

* Ask key questions that inform course redesign

* Apply a strategy to identify critical content

* Brainstorm different delivery options for learning content

Do you want a free makeover? We're going to use an existing course as a model to illustrate how to create an Extreme Course Makeover Blueprint. If you'd like your course to get a makeover during the session on October 15th, please click on the link below to complete the application.

About the Presenter:

Nelwyn Yee

Owner/Director, LPI Solutions

At Learning & Performance Improvement Solutions, we love learning! Our greatest joy is crafting learning solutions that connect people who have a need for knowledge and skills with experts that can provide the knowledge and skills they need. Our learning solutions extend beyond the walls of a classroom or online course and help to ensure transfer of learning occurs.

We work closely with subject matter experts to gather information, identify critical content and determine measures of effectiveness. We then apply effective instructional design techniques, and partner with our graphic designers, videographers and technical developers, to create learning material uniquely tailored to meet the needs of your organization and employees.

We are passionate about our Knowledge Transfer Program – a systematic approach to identifying, capturing and transferring knowledge and skills from an experienced individual who is leaving the organization to other individuals(s) so that business needs continue to be met.

For the past 12 years Nelwyn has been the owner of LPI Solutions. Prior to starting LPI Solutions she was a training manager and senior instructional designer at major corporations. She has an MBA, BBA and secondary teaching certificate from the University of Hawaii.
