Born and raised in Hawaii, L.P. "Neenz" Faleafine is the CEO and Community Developer for Pono Media, a human-centered, data-driven strategic consulting company. Neenz describes herself as a "social disruptor", which is someone who works to change the status quo because it needs to be changed. Her tools of change are technology, social media, and strategic processes, including design thinking.
She views social networks as thriving neighborhoods and leverages this technology to build engaged and sustainable communities for her clients.
In "The Art of Building Communities", Neenz defines social media by using what she calls the 4 C's of Social Media, uses studies to explain the social and psychological allure of social networks, and identifies common personas of social networkers and their preferred social channel.
