Kimo Kippen, a native of Hawai'i, former Chief Learning Officer at Hilton Worldwide, recognized by CLO Magazine as Chief Learning Officer of the year - 2015, and former VP of Learning at Marriott International. Kimo is a thought leader, teacher, speaker and advocate for creating greater access to learning and education thereby changing a generation and generations to come. Learn more about Kimo here.



Ai Tanaka is a Senior Consultant of Continuous Improvement, Organizational Development & Effectiveness at HMSA/Blue Cross Blue Shield of Hawai'i. Originally from Japan, she moved to Hawai'i in 2012 to be a super aunty for her nephew, Aiden. At HMSA, she is responsible for providing strategic and transformational leadership to cross-functional teams for a variety of continuous improvement efforts in the company. Prior, she worked for an operations management consulting firm in Connecticut for 15 years, initially starting out in training & organizational development roles, then later consulting for small to Fortune 100 manufacturing clients across the U.S., Mexico and Russia to help improve safety, quality and productivity utilizing the Toyota Production System (TPS/Lean). Ai has studied abroad in France, holds an M.A. in Intercultural and International Management from School for International Training, and B.A. from University of California, San Diego. Ai splits time between Honolulu and Sapporo, Japan.



Darryl Shiroma has been in the Learning & Development field for over 20 years including working at companies such as Bank of Hawaii and Longs Drugs. He has taught classes in customer service, team dynamics, coaching, performance management, communications, facilitative leadership, leading change, people skills, business etiquette, sales and various introductory computer classes. His current responsibilities at HawaiiUSA include overseeing the annual performance review process, leadership development, and assisting with succession management. With a “true heart of a teacher,” Darryl has trained at large groups such as Pearl Harbor shipyard as well as humble mom-and-pop companies. He has been an ATD Hawaiʻi chapter member forever.
