Bio:


Charles has been a community change agent for over 25 years. He is involved in educational consulting, workforce development and neighborhood planning. He is also retired from the United States Air Force where he held positions as training superintendent, recruiter manager and civil engineer program analyst. Charles’ entrepreneurial endeavors have included co-owning a career coaching practice and staffing company in Philadelphia. As Executive Director of the Uplift Institute, Charles has focused on community-based education in social equity, environmental justice and economic empowerment through ecoliteracy. He holds a bachelor's degree in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University - Carbondale, an M.A. in Urban Sustainability from Antioch University - Los Angeles and is completing a Doctor of Education in Educational Sustainability at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. He currently resides in Escondido, California.
