Bios

Gerry Somers is currently the Director, Head of PDQ Learning and Technology at Genentech.  He focuses on learning and development strategies for Product Development Quality, Operations and building out the technology roadmaps/experiments for Quality Services.  While in PD, Gerry has been the work product owner for PD learning experiments, Purpose Built Networks (PBN), PD Center of Excellence, and the SSF Innovation Group (SIG).  He has been with Genentech for 19 years.

Gerry has a Masters of Arts in Education, focusing on Instructional Technologies, Bachelor of Arts, focusing on Political Science and History and has over 22 years of experience with learning and development in Commercial as well as in the Pharma Technical area. He is also an alum of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.

Shelley Bracken is a Sr, Manager in Product Development Quality - Learning Solutions at  Genentech. Currently, she is leading a team of Instructional Designers, to provide high quality learning solutions to the Product Development Organization.  During her 16 year tenure at Genentech she has worked in a variety of functions and roles.   Prior to Genentech she has a variety of experience in the Learning and Development industry ranging from ERP Systems, corporate learning and development programs, learning technologies and Corporate Universities.  

Shelley has a Masters in Organizational Development from University of San Francisco, and a B.S in Instructional Technology from California State University Chico.
